Ride Leader Meeting

Date: Thursday, May 7th.

Time: Meeting- 9:30-11:00 am

Location: The Bridges Clubhouse - 20838 Sotra Loop, Bend

Who is Invited: All Veteran Ride Leaders and Potential New Ride leaders

Beverages, food: We will provide coffee, juice and light breakfast 

Details:

Meeting (9:30-11:00)- This is an important meeting to discuss this year's ambitious ride schedule.  

Agenda:

  • The weekly schedule for Road, Gravel and MTB schedule
  • Saturday Signature Rides (posted rides for A, B, C & D +Ride leaders)
  • Ride group need/communication (D's, more verbal? C's, less verbal more hand signals?  B's, primarily hand signals. A's = Dog Fight!). 
  • Ride Submission form 
  • Finding routes within the Ride with GPS Library (Collections).
  • 50K, 100K & 100 Mile Clubs
  • Open discussion

Ride scenarios  include:

  • Pre-ride introductions. (example: leader intro, pace & stops).
  • Rider Responsibility: Bike & rider ready to roll " RTR" & Download the routes!
  • Roll at the appointed time (respect those that showed up on time).
  • Hand signals (including turns, stops, road obstacles & potholes).
  • Leading at the "Advertised Pace."
  • heavy traffic
  • crossing highways
  • regrouping
  • hills/breakaways
  • mechanical/medical
  • pace line management (Roll left, pass on right).
  • roundabout negotiation (1, 2 or 3rd exit. No "take a left").

We will send Ride leader guidelines prior to the ride.  The COW's website also has ride leader guidelines on the website.  

In order to sign up for multiple registrations you will need to register each one at a time.  this is much easier on the Wild Apricot APP.
